Television legend Don Knotts, famous for his role as Barney Fife on "The Andy Griffith Show" and later as Mr. Furley on "Three's Company" visited the Bucks County Playhouse in 1977 and starred in the premiere of A Good Look at Boney Kern. In the words of actress Belinda Balaski, who starred opposite him in this production "he was a joy to work with and truly one of the nicest people on the planet”. Below are some images graciously donated to the Bucks County Playhouse by Ms. Balaski, along with some of her remembrances.

| Belinda played a blind woman (thus the sunglasses) in the play and when Don comes to the boarding house she believes him to be tall dark and handsome and he tries to convince her otherwise. |

| We would always have to hold the opening line when he appeared on stage because the audience would begin to laugh uncontrollably. It was from years of relating to him as Barney Fife, although he would only stand there and do nothing. After that, he was able to "get them" into the play and soon they would forget his comedic side... he just loved that and wanted to do more serious parts. |

Don truly was an incredible actor who loved A Good Look At Boney Kern because he could play a serious part.
