THE FULL MONTY MAKES A STOP AT THE BUCKS COUNTY PLAYHOUSE FOR FOUR WEEKS BEGINNING AUGUST 23, 2006

Playing to rave reviews throughout the United States, The Full Monty makes a stop at the Bucks County Playhouse. Set for a four week run, The Full Monty begins Wednesday, August 23 and continues thru Sunday, September 17, 2006

Based on the 1997 hit movie, The Full Monty centers on a group of unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, New York. Seeing how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers, they decide to come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In the process they conquer personal fears, find renewed self-esteem while discovering the importance of friendship and the ability to have fun.

With book by Terrence McNally and music and lyrics by David Yazbek, The Full Monty is chock full of memory-grabbing melodies and outlandish lyrics. Ben Brantley of The New York Times wrote, “The Full Monty is that rare crowd-pleaser that you don’t have to apologize for liking...even those who go expecting to sneer are likely to be surprised by the smiles that keep sneaking onto their faces.”

The cast of The Full Monty includes many familiar faces to Playhouse audiences. In the role of Harold Nichols is Jim Lynch. Playhouse audiences have seen Jim in a variety of roles such as Billy Flynn in Chicago, Cliff Bradshaw in Cabaret, Will Rogers in The Will Rogers Follies and Joe Hardy in Damn Yankees to name a few. Peter Martino plays Ethan Girard. Peter was seen earlier this season as Benjamin Braddock in The Graduate and Jack in Into the Woods. In the role of Jeanette Burmeister is Penny Larsen. Penny reprises the role of Jeanette having just returned from the national tour of The Full Monty. Playhouse audiences have also seen Penny as Golde in Fiddler on the Roof with Eddie Mekka and Aunt Eller in Oklahoma! The Music Man is directed and choreographed by Stephen Casey. Casey has served as Artistic Director for the Playhouse for 10 years and has directed and choreographed many of our hits of the past few seasons including Damn Yankees and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
