SUMMER CHILDREN'S THEATRE SERIES AT BUCKS COUNTY PLAYHOUSE BEGINS JUNE 23, 2006
The Bucks County Playhouse Summer Children’s Theatre series is set to begin on Friday, June 23 and continues each Friday and Saturday during the summer. The series features five different musicals each running two weeks thru Saturday, August 26, 2006. Performances are each Friday and Saturday at 11 AM and 1 PM with productions running about 1 hour in length.
This season, after opening with The Wizard of Oz on June 23 & 24, 2006 and June 30 and July 1, 2006 the Bucks County Playhouse series will include four popular musicals created by Walt Disney Theatricals. The musicals include all of the well known songs made famous by Disney movies.
Disney’s 101 Dalmations, Kids will be performed on July 7 & 8, 2006 and July 14 & 15, 2006 and centers on the deliciously evil Cruella De Vil and her plot to steal Dalmatian puppies in order to use them for her new fur coat.
The series continues with Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids, the classic tale of Mowgli, Baloo, King Louie and the gang as they swing their way through jungle adventures and try to thwart the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan. The musical includes such memorable Disney tunes as “The Bare Necessities” and “I Wan’na Be Like You.” Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids will be performed on July 21 & 22, 2006 and July 28 & 29, 2006.
Disney’s Cinderella Kids on August 4 & 5, 2006 and August 11 & 12, 2006 follows the time honored tale of a girl, mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters and transformed by her Fairy Godmother into a beautiful princess. The score features the classic “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo” and reminds all that dreams really can come true.
Disney’s Aladdin, Jr. on August 18 & 19, 2006 and August 25 & 26, 2006 is the final show of the summer series. Filled with magic and mayhem, the musical features Aladdin, Jasmine and of course, the Genie. The Academy Award Winning Musical Score includes “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me.”
Bucks County Playhouse Children’s Theatre takes place each Friday and Saturday at 11 AM and 1 PM from Friday, June 23 thru Saturday, August 26, 2006.
